The meeting was called to order by President Gary Powers at 7:33 p.m.

Present:

Petrus, Joe Lemmer, Linda Habermann, Sandi Cole,  Whitney Snyder, Marcia Albert.

Apologies:
Beth Mead, Debbie Melnik, George Brammer, Jim Pietrzak, Leah Russell, Linda Wilkes, Marilyn Harriman.

Secretary’s Report:
The April 12, 2007 minutes were approved as written.

President’s Report:
The President introduced the newly appointed director for the Mountain District, Marcia Albert.  Her
appointment will be confirmed at the Annual Meeting.  Leah Russell has resigned.

The board members introduced themselves.

Board Directors are reminded to pass the names of new residents to the Membership Committee.

When dealing with contractors or vendors, Directors should have HHHA bills sent to P. O. Box 8752,
Roanoke, VA 24014. This will help to avoid delays in payment.

Treasurer’s Report:
Treasurer Ed Price submitted his report.  We are no longer receiving a water bill.  Members in good
standing may receive a balance by contacting the Treasurer.

President Gary Powers suggested consideration be made to selling ads in our Hunting Hills Directory
next year to offset the cost of printing, and hand distribution be used instead of mailing.

Committee Reports

Beautification:
Irene Brock reported that the common areas that HHHA maintains are looking good. Weeding is being
done every two weeks and mowing is being done at Rt. 220 and Crossbow Drive. Mulching for the entire
quarter has cost $53.90.

Club Liaison:
No report.

Government Liaison:
Joe Lemmer reported that there is no new information about Rt. 220 or the new interstate.  The HHHA
will stay neutral on the politics involved.

Jean Summerbell advised that advertising signs are not allowed in the common areas but a one day sign
is permitted (Realtor Open House).

Membership Report:
No report.

Security & Safety Report:
Whitney Snyder circulated copies of police incident reports in our area.  She reported that several
purses have been stolen from unlocked vehicles and advises that residents should keep their car
doors and house doors locked.

Streets and Lights:
Sandi Cole reported that there are no problems. Irene Brock reported that some cracks are starting on
Peregrine Crest.  Jean Summerbell feels this is due to construction vehicles.  Pot holes are occurring
throughout the neighborhood and all roads need renewing.

Old Business:
There was no old business.

New Business:
Gary Powers reported that he has been talking to Delta Dental and they are receptive to working
together on the replacement of the Hunting Hills sign and are anxious to proceed. Delta Dental offered
to pay 50% of the new landscaping and have their landscaper maintain the area.

After much discussion over who owns the land, who owns the sign,  property easements for the sign,
costs, who should pay, should signs be upgraded or old sign restored, Whitney Snyder moved that ,”
HHHA contact Bo Willis to reinstall  the old sign at its original location.  Bo Willis to pay for the
installation and HHHA will pay any renovation cost for the old sign and any landscaping cost.”    The
motion was seconded by Joe Lemmer and approved by all present with the exception of one abstaining.

The General Membership Meeting will be held Thursday, November 15, 2007.  Officer Crozier of the
Roanoke County Police will be guest speaker.  The menu will be the same as last year with one drink
ticket per person.  Gary Powers will confirm the date and Whitney will handle the catering with the
country club.

Gary Powers advised that we need to be thinking about new board members and officers for next year.
Requests for volunteers will be posted on our website which is visited frequently.

Gary Powers will also contact Bo Willis about the sign.

Any Other Business:
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, October 10, 2007.

Respectfully submitted

Linda Habermann
Secretary
