Committee Reports

Beautification:
We need to replace Mr. Okyo.  HHHC was asked for recommendations. A motion was made to hire a
horticulture student from VWCC on a three month trial basis to work under the supervision of the
Garden Club (specifically Mrs. Summerbell, Mrs. Melnik, Mrs. Petrus, & Mrs. Brock) with a salary of
$12-$15/hr. not to exceed $500/month.  Discussion  ensued about needs, time frames, and how to set
this up.  The motion was passed with a unanimous vote.  Homeowners should call VDOT directly for
leaves in the ditches to be removed.

Club Liaison:
We need a replacement for the Brammers.  Membership continues to be strong.  Spring special running.

Government Liaison:
Grading began for the new Home Depot.  Discussion of Clearbrook area development and Slate Hill was
brief.  The County has approved the plans for a mill to go in off Starkey Rd.  Work to begin immediately.

Membership Report:
As of 1/24/06 there are 246 paid memberships.  Ths directory will be compiled in mid-February and hope
to deliver to printer mid-March.

Security & Safety Report:
There was a break-in on Black Bear late November/early-December.  No one has been caught.  Possibly
youth involved.

Streets and Lights:
There is a new light at Remington/Falcon Ridge intersection.  There has been no progress in the
drainage problem at the corner of Deerfield—there is ongoing negotiation between HHCC and Old
Heritage on this matter.  Sandi Cole will contact the parties involved for a status update.

Old Business:
New entrance sign at Starkey—Delta Dental has halted the project after agreeing to it due to sight
issues.  The debate now is whether to proceed or to wait and discuss with Delta Dental.  Old Heritage
appears confident that they have right-of-way.  This may go to court.  The old sign from this location will
be placed at 220 entrance when new sign in place.

New Business:
Committees:
Colleen Stone, Anna Hudson, and Whitney Snyder will serve on the membership committee.
Year’s meeting dates:  April 13, 2006; July 13, 2006;  October 12, 2006.
