TREASURER'S REPORT - Available for resident members from Treasurer by request. Treasurer: Marilyn Harriman BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE The common areas of the neighborhood are being maintained by a new professional landscape contractor, Lawn Barber Landscaping. They have done a wonderful job so far and are contracted for the next year. Beautification Chair: Irene Brock/Joan Petrus/Connie Vaughn/Debbie Melnik MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE Congratulations Hunting Hills Homeowners for making our 2006 campaign a huge success. 75% of the residents joined and all 6 districts showed significant increases. The Scenic District may once again claim bragging rights for their first place finish with 88% participation. Other districts results are Midlands- 82%, Mountain – 74%, Valley – 74%, Plateau 71%, and Piedmont – 70%. We hope to continue our growth in 2007 with 100% of the residents joining our association. The Hunting Hills Directory was published and mailed in late March, and we ask that you let us know when new residents move into your district so we can send them a directory and welcome letter. Thank you for support! Membership Chair: Beth Mead/Colleen Stone STREETS AND LIGHT COMMITTEE The function of the Streets and Lights Committee is to insure that the roads are maintained, the damaged street signs are repaired, and burned out street lights are replaced. All street light outages that were reported have been repaired or replaced. Roads in areas with new construction that are wearing badly have been brought to the attention of VDOT and the county. Remember to always be alert, good neighbors. Streets and Lights Chair: Sandi Cole/Gary Phillips GOVERNMENT LIAISON COMMITTEE Development of Slate Hill is stalled with no imminent changes expected. Plans to develop the Clearbrook area for the Super Wal-Mart were approved by the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors on October 24. The Committee continues to communicate with Mike Wray, our county representative on the Board of Supervisors. Police continue to enforce the speed limit along Hunting Hills Drive. Please let the committee know if problems continue. Government Liaison Committee Chair: Joe Lemmer SECURITY COMMITTEE The goal of the Security Committee is to keep you informed of any threatening or dangerous events that occur in the neighborhood. The Security Committee receives crime reports from the Roanoke County Police Department and looks for trends or patterns of crime. We have continued liaison with the Roanoke County Attorney's Office as well as the Roanoke County Police on the Neighborhood Watch and Crime Prevention Program. Please continue to visit the regularly updated neighborhood website at www.huntinghillshomeowner.org. Over 400 visitors have visited the site to date. Security Committee Chair: Gary Powers |
